What do you need help with exactly? If you have a lot of keywords for the meta information go ahead and put them in there.

As a matter fact you don't really need meta-keywords, instead use meta-description and title. Google index is based on those 2, plus a couple more factors.

take a look of this web site addme.com/meta.htm and it will help you a lot

You can use w3schools (http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_meta.asp) to help learn about them as well.

You say in your post "i have just got my head around keywords and have got a lot listed" but no link to your site. So I guess the short answer would be yes use computer repair town/city and your all set.

SEO is not that easy to just use a keywork there are a ton of variables involved in it. You might have "great" keywords but if the rest of your site is not done right or you are missing things then it really will not matter.

Great topic. I am thinking about placing a similar questions.

I have done plenty of reading on keywords. Not enough to be an expert but enough to know that those keywords need to show up something in the webpage. I have a randon competitor that uses the following keywords

<meta name="keywords" content="business computer services,Computer Repairs,Computer Services,Fix My Computer,huntington Beach Computer Support,Irvine Computer Repairs,Irvine Computer Services,Newport Beach Computer Repair,orange county computer repair,orange county computer support,Tustin Computer Repair,Tustin Computer Service ">

<meta name="description" content="$99 Special Computer Repair, Computer Services, computer repair Orange County, computer services orange county, Fix My Computer, Fix My PC, Computer Repair Irvine, Computer Services Irvine, Newport Beach Computer Repair, Computer Repair Tustin ">

AS you can see 99?% of the keywords are computer repair. My keywords include computer repair, data recovery, virus removal etc.

My question is that the majority of people will search computer repair CITY they live in. This guy's page comes up above mine pretty much everywhere, google business listing an organic.

Does the page come up higher becaue his keyword are related to the business instead of the specific type of work for computer,

example
virus removal CITY I live in
computer repair CITY I live in

Which of the 2 is better to have?
Should I change my to match what the competitor has but inlcude extra words like virus removal, data reovery etc? When people call me the majority of the time they say the search was computer repair CITY

Thank you. Hopefully I made since. I am having to type and eat lunch and quickly get back to business.

To my understanding most search engines ignore meta keywords. Though, I've noticed that Google will display Title and Description within the search results for my site.

Although, recently I have flooded my meta keywords with just about everything I could possibly think of, surrounding cities, county, various hardware/software, and manufacturers.

I'm rather new to SEO and it's an ongoing research and learning experience for me - So I will have to see how it affects my search results/page rank within Google.

Meta keywords are important, the problem I can see is that you guys are cramming your meta tags too much, google looks down upon this kind of thing.

Sn@Ke,

I had just read your SEO post a few hours ago when searching the forums here for SEO advice, and took notes and pointers on some areas I can improve upon.

Personally, I would like to absorb as much information as I possibly can to get my site more visible in search engines. For the past few months, my site has gone relatively unnoticed. A few local directory referrals, some adwords etc... During those months, I had a relatively limited use of meta keywords. However, last night, in a desperate attempt to help my sites visibility, (I should also mention I suffered with Insomnia and was up for around 22 hours or so) so perhaps I mistakenly flooded my keywords in a negative manner. I was worried about it would impact Google's opinion of my site, though I also figured from a PR of 1 there wasn't much more harm it could do... Though I suppose it would be harder to recover from a 0...
