So I'm working on my dad's computer for him (he's been asking me to for months but I've been too busy) I'm getting ready to run some scans on it for any viruses, but being a technician, I've taught him to run MalwareBytes frequently and he runs Avira.

Anyway - just wondering what could be causing a script error to pop up repeatedly on multiple poker programs he plays. It comes up and you have to click the x over and over and over probably 100 times. Also, when it shows the line number and character, they are blank. I even went into tools>internet options>advanced and unchecked (or checked if they were DISABLE) the boxed that pertains to Javascript errors and debugging... did NOTHING.

He's running Vista - which probably IS the problem itself. :D

Can you set IE back to defaults?
Tried that as well. I've tried everything short of uninstalling / reinstalling IE. It's weird that it's happening in poker programs and, to the best of my knowledge, not happening in IE... oh wait, dad uses Firefox. Is there no way to make the OS use Firefox for script handling or is IE what the developers hardcoded into the program to use?

You could set Firefox as the default web browser, but I think it does that automagically during installation. Failing that, you could replace all the internet explorer files with firefox ones, then rename them, so 'firefox.exe' --> 'iexplore.exe'.

What versions of IE and FF are installed ?

And what 'poker programs'?
