Since its VERY slow this summer i am going to work on a fully automated scanning and cleaning scripts, first thing i need is a non-gui windows environment with a shell window to run a script.

I looked for windows pe but all i found was vistape any idea where i can find something like this?.
I need it to have a very small ram footprint.

Server 2008 core is command line based. Are you looking for more server or workstation OS's?

As small as a memory footprint as possible xp based pref. winpe for some reason was removed from microsofts website.

You could use WAIK to make a WinPE image. This will look like the Vista Repair CD. WAIK is a big download, so I downloaded a copy from a not 100% legit website, then removed anything illegal. This will boot in about 2minutes straight to a cmd type prompt.

Ok i download waik hmm looks complicated to set up i have experience with programming C/C++, 6502 asm, basic, batch files.

I wonder if there is some front end or gui environment i can use to build a pe with my custom scripts, i guess i will have to look at the documentation.

I just found winbuilder anyone have experience with this one or is there a better one?.
