Tip about HP printers and IE7

I got a call from my Dad tonight, he was having problems with his HP 6100 scanner/printer/fax. Just stopped working. Ah well, so much for my evening. I went to their house, did some checking, and long story short, IE7 causes a conflict with some HP scanner/printer software.

A quick download from HP's site, a reboot, and all was well.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll definitely keep this in mind. Reminds me of when a bunch of Canon printers stopped working when Service Pack 2 came out.

Makes you wonder why IE7 will kill the printer though, they shouldnt be playing together anyway. Its probably because of Internet Explorers deep integration into Windows which is another good reason to use Firefox instead of IE.
