How many of you guys have come across hugipon; not to be confused with hupigon. Note the difference in spelling. I have dealt with two machines recently that have been reportedly infected with it. I have two problems with it, the first is that if it really exists and is not a false positive because only sas is actually finding it and secondly I'm unhappy about the way I am getting rid of it which is basically to fire a barrage of different cleanup/removal tools at it which has been successful but it's not the way I like to work. Both machines were infected up to the gunnel's hence the shotgun approach. But like I say it's not the way I like to work and this is my first experience of this particular virus. I wondered if any of you other guys have come across it and how you have dealt with it.

I havn' come across it yet, but it seems some think its a false positive, you probably saw this page on the SAS forums I'm posting it for the others.

forums.superantispyware.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3048

2spyware.com has no info so its probably legit.

No I had missed that; so thanks for the link. I am however less confident that it is a false positive now due to the fact that one of the posters on that thread reports being unable to update AVG which was one of the symptoms that caused one customer to bring his computer to us in the first place. Interestingly it turns out that the two customers know each other and have many of the same interests which kind of points to a common source of infection. Or is it all one big coincidence?

Well I reckon it beats my previous approaches. I'll be pretty surprised, though, if this person, or anyone else like them will take up my offer!
