I used to use vistaprint but I only use gotprint now. They rock.
Just so you all know, Vista print uses smaller cards. A fraction smaller, but nevertheless smaller.
Don't feed the spam bots!!! They'll whine and come back for more.

It was about MichianaComputers, signed up only one post... about a business. Come on, I would think definitely spam.

I don't think it was spam. No links, just expressing his opinion about a company he uses. Maybe not the best first post, but...

In the interest of keeping the overheads down...plus a lifetime of insomnia...I use Belltech Business Cards and a few other Print programs to design my cards ,my flyers and my case stickers. I have my templates done and on nights when sleep is a thing other people do, I do my "housework" which includes re-stocking my printed material. I have good stocks of specialty papers , guillotine etc. and the activity, being a tad mind-numbing helps to get me in the right mind-set to grab a few zzzz's.Another factor is that being in a regional coastal area,I don't have a daily access to a printing firm..of course I could use any number in my nearest city...2 hrs away...but it all adds to cost, plus there is the satisfaction of being self-reliant - something I have always found cathartic and a source of pride.

I have used Vistaprint as well, but will certainly check out these other places.
Another interesting one is moo.com - not cheap like Vista, but you can make some really neat mini-cards (1/2 the size of standard ones) for personal use with images from your flickr account on the back and a really cool keychain dispenser.

Do most of you guys print full color flyers? I'd been trying to reduce cost and print them myself by using a colored cardstock paper with standard black ink. I haven't invested in a color laser printer though I am considering purchasing one.

I have an HP 2605dn just for small full-color brochure runs. Fantastic printer for $400. I never run more than 100 at a time. For normal hand-outs, I do single-sided full color but not taking up the entire page with color. I have them printed at a local print shop, and they charge me about $50 for 1,000. I do trade some computer work once in a while.

$50 for a 1,000 you say - that's not bad at all. Is that for a standard 8.5x11? I'm going to look into the printer you use and check around on some others so I will have some ideas once I decide to purchase one.

They have pretty good rates. My full color business cards cost about the same. That particular printer is discontinued, but I did find one used on amazon. You're not too awful far from the metro area. Check out Frye's next time you're that way. They have some pretty good deals on color lasers. Also newegg.

Yes newegg is one of the very first places I check. I like to research and read reviews across multiple places though, so I usually shop around a bit =D but it lets me know what I am getting into.

MichianaComputers has posted over 350 times, about all kinds of things... tech issues, his business, replies with good info to some of my posts. Come on, I'm new here, but I doubt very highly he is 'spamming' the site.

This is an older thread. It dates back to June and well before he had over 300 posts.
Hey I guess I should have posted in the introductions before posting about gotprint.
I'm not affiliated with them in any way, I just got some cards from them and thought they were great.
I'm definitly not a spam bot or something like that. sorry! :D

Hmmm I have to wonder how the above poster can have a signature with images and links but I can't yet. *puzzled* - Looks like we joined about the same time.

don't know... when I joined, I created the signature that same (or next) day. Didn't even hear about the restrictions till I was reading some posts in the "Requests and Suggestions" section.

It appears the rules changed before I ever made a first post.
I must admit though, I do like your logo =)

It appears the rules changed before I ever made a first post. I've never been able to find the criteria that determine when one's signature can contain html. It would be nice to see it in the forum rules, as I'm sure it is on the mind of many new members.

Go to where you edit your signature. Below the Edit Signature WYSIWYG editor you'll see the Signature Picture controls, unload from you computer or from a url. Then it will show up in your "Current Signature Picture". Now go back to the WYSIWYG and put or you can wrap it in [url] tag to make it linkable.
Here is my code...I had to use {} instead of [ ] since it parsed the code even withing the CODE tags

I had tried the [] before and I check back every so often, but from the beginning I noticed that my signature permissions say
Allow Basic BB Code Yes
Allow Color BB Code No
Allow Size BB Code No
Allow Font BB Code No
Allow Alignment BB Code No
Allow List BB Code Yes
Allow Link BB Code No
Allow HTML No
Allow Image BB Code No
Allow Code BB Code No
Allow PHP BB Code No
Allow HTML BB Code No
Allow Quote BB Code Yes
Allow Smilies No
Can Upload Images for Signature No
Can Upload Animated GIF for Signature No
I don't think changing the brackets will have any affect - but it clearly says I can't upload a signature image, and honestly, I would be perfectly happy with linking to my own domain. Unfortunately, each attempt has failed. I will try changing the brackets but I don't suspect it will make a difference with those permissions. Thanks for the suggestion though.

It is a never a bad time to shop for better pricing but I have used them for their quality. After I used vista print, I was soooo disappointed.
How is the quality of GotPrint based on your experience?
Thanks for the info!

My only complaint was an error that I made. GotPrint are recommended by several people on this forum. And heck, at their prices, order a short run and compare for yourself.
Or, request a free sample pack from their website.

Definitely good that I posted! It led to a review of my provider.
I ordered the sample kit and will definitely give it a shot once they pass my sample inspection - :).
Thanks again!
