Hi

I'm a new publisher and writer, having started up my own business in July creating IT manuals, and offering IT training to businesses in the UK. My first IT manual is aimed at nervous older users, and covers carrying out simple internet, email and document preparation tasks. It also links to the 'e-citizen' qualification, a UK entry level IT qualification.

I'd be very keen to hear from anyone who is doing something similar and to learn from your experiences, or, of course if you think that you know someone who would benefit from what we offer, please pass on our details.
:)

Congratulations on starting up your own business. There is defintely a market for what your doing as I frequently go on jobs to teach the older generation basic computer things.

I can only see this field growing since the baby boomer generation are retiring over the next few years and will need something to keep their minds active such as computers.

Perhaps you could look into doing a book about basic computer security? As a computer technician I see alot of the older generation making basic mistakes as far as viruses/malware goes. I find alot of that generation open emails with virus attachments if the message is something like "here are the pictures you wanted". Curiousity killed the computer. :)

Welcome to Technibble, the home of fake Teletubbies. Knuckles10 is the one to PM for questions about the forum and be sure to join in all the fancy tech talk. If you have problems, I'm sure someone will come rushing to help. For example setting a grenade off inside your computer on accident. Other then that, make friends.
