Anyone having any success with Crossloop?

I was just wondering if anyone was successfully using crossloop to connect with random clients?

Any failures? Successes? etc.?

If you are referring to random clients as in the Crossloop market place (where visitors search for techs and select one to help), its an absolute fail. In the past year I have had one request...from a guy who only spoke spanish...didn't go very well :p

As far as in my personal clients, at first I thought it would be great, but I was wrong. The sessions drop all the time, the program locks, and the client gets frustrated. I ended up customizing a SingleClick and use that for all remote purposes.

I've had almost the same experience with crossloop. UVNC SingleClick or LogMeInRescue works for me the best.

I don't like Crossloop either. I find it very slow and I too found that it would drop its connection often. Most of my clients and friends have MSN so I use the Windows remote desktop and found it works quite well.

I use Crossloop almost everyday for my existing clients, and I've never been contacted by anyone though the market place.

I use Teamviewer and like it alot. It has been very reliable for me and it is very fast. It is also handy to transfer files, etc.

I think Teamviewer is great but unfortunately it is not free for commercial use.
If anybody is using Teamviewer for commercial purposes without paying be warned, they log your network adapters mac address whenever you make a connection and can block it from making a connection if they think you are abusing the system.

I use cross loop for remote access and never really had any problems with it. Customers are always happy with that service.

I have been using Crossloop since reading about it here and so far I haven't had an issue. I love the fact the access code is new for every session. Ensuring security and privacy for the clients. I thinks its great.

Its actually really easy to configure. What I like about it most is you can customize the GUI to your liking. For example you can change all the text in the program and the main logo to your companies logo.

Basically you goto the website and download the package. You change the images, text, and IP configuration (simply put in the IP address you want the program to point to) and upload the new package back to the site. It then gives you an .exe to download. You can put this .exe anywhere for download, such as on your companies website.

So in the end, your client calls for support, you direct them to the download (such as www.yourcompany.com/remotesupport.exe) and they launch the file...that's it. No work for them to do, nothing to install, and you don't have to worry about port forwarding and all that good stuff.

i will have a play about with that later thanks, the bit i am struggling with is when i download ultra VNC and i install it, and i get to the bit where it asks about connection, i put in the ip address but does not work. where i am going wrong

Have you forwarded the ports on your router?

You have to log into your router and forward port 5500 I believe to the IP address of the computer you would be doing the remote support from. It helps to set your computer up with a static IP also so the IP doesn't change.

If you don't do this you wont receive the connection.

quick question about the ip address in single click do i have to keep the 5500 at the end of the ip address

5500 is the port it will connect to. You can remove it but I believe VNC default back to that port. You can also change it to any port you want it to connect to.

Not really sure why you would want to change it though.

Sorry for the confusion, I just checked my config and it is port 5500, not 5800 (I will edit that). In regards to your question, yes you include the port number at the end of your IP. Below is a snip of my config file.

done everything you said, forwarded my port, got my exe file, now when i open it, all i get is a box that says "winvnc current user properties" so what do i need to do now, please help
