Through a reference book found this website, www.processlibrary.com, that will tell you about any file you find during start up and whether it is needed or not. Also, a sleuth of other files such as virus to watch out for..great for slow starting computers and tweaking the msconfig start up...

TaskList.Org (http://www.tasklist.org) has a database of 18219 processes

PCPitStop.Com (http://www.pcpitstop.com/libraries/process/) is another.

But out of all of them, i use the first two mentioned on this thread. And if that can't find anythin' then I'll use google.

wow i never really thought about seeing if there was a site tha listed nice links, Ill add them to my portable firefox book marks now.
