Reputation

Does any use the Reputation button and give people reputation points for contributing good responses or starting good threads that result in a excellent forum topic?

I generally don't, and don't care about the reputation I may receive. I just try to give the best information that I can, on topics that I know. If it helps someone, great...if I'm completely way off base...well, not so great, I guess.
I'd like to think that I post on here often enough that I have a reputation of knowing one or two small bits of knowledge.

i agree with "numbers", i just didn't know if the points amounted to anything or if its just "there" to use if you wnat

I wait until it occurs to me which is usually when something is terrible and then I go find people to give points to good or bad depending on things as such.

I am new here but I have not used the points. I have participated in forums (usually investment type) that showed the accumulated points beside the poster's name and the number of recommends by the thread topic. What often happens is that people start filtering so that they only see posts by participants with 100 or more points or only look at threads with 3 or more recommends. It can be helpful filtering out spam posts but hopefully this forum will not have that problem.

i use it :P and tried to get thanks mod installed here to tie in with rep system but seems most people dont like it lol

I've given it a few times but I suppose there are MANY more people that I owe it to... If anybody answers this (http://www.technibble.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5666) for me, I promise to give them reputation credits!!!
