Another message from "the troll." Perhaps I should just change my name...

Anyway...
http://www.anatekcorp.com/blueesr.htm
I have gotten a few lcd monitors that exhibit signs of bad capacitors. One way of checking these is an ESR meter, but they are expensive. I've tried building a 555 timer chip version that connects to my oscilloscope but no dice. Didn't monkey with it since.

Recently I figured out why a motherboard I had was unstable, bulging capacitors. Looking around at other sites about this I came across this kit which is much much cheaper then buying a full blown professional unit. I discovered this kit before when I tried the oscilloscope method and considered it, however coming across another capacitor problem am considering trying one out once I get some money.

Does anyone think this may be a viable thing to offer customers perhaps? Not sure how often these capacitor issues really crop up, as this motherboard is from 2001 I believe, however the LCD monitors I have are relatively new so aren't obsolete.

Hmm... guess it turned into a question as well as a tip, wrong forum now?
