Create dual boot system on laptop with recovery partitiion?

Anybody successful doing this without installing a retail version of windows.
IM trying to dual boot xphome that came with gateway laptop and my xp pro. Just seems even if i delete rec part it just want let me. And dont evne get me into part magic or sys commander they did absolutely nothing.

Do you want to keep the recovery partition? when you tried to do the dual boot what wont it let you do? what went wrong?

It say missing hal.dll. Which I replaced and its there, I think the rec. part. is the problem in addition I dont have a retail version.

Wait a minute, why are you trying to dual boot Home and Pro? Why dont you just use pro and be done with it? The differences are minimal except pro has a few extra admin tools.
