From the Disk Wipe site:
Website (http://www.diskwipe.org)/Download (http://www.diskwipe.org/download/DiskWipe.exe)

Disk Wipe is Free, portable Windows application for permanent volume data destruction. With Disk Wipe you can erase all disk data and prevent recovery of those data. Formatting a hard drive with regular method leaves an open possibility to recover the data back. Many companies and users who just dumped their old hard drives in rubbish had found this the hard way. Disk Wipe solves this problem efficiently, using a powerful algorithms which fill the volume with useless rubbish binary data multiple times. The possibility of recovering information from drive formatted with Disk Wipe is almost non existent.

Disk Wipe is released under GNU - General Public Licence.

I wish it made a boot disk, but I didn't see a way to do that. I may have missed something.

This may be useful in some circumstances. However, the FAQ at DiskWipe's website says:

http://www.diskwipe.org/images/inset_s.gifI can't wipe the C partition, why?
You cannot wipe a C partition because it is a partition where Windows operating system is installed on. So, you can not wipe a partition which you currently use to to log in into Windows and run Disk Wipe from. You should access this partition from an operating system which is installed on another partition, disk drive or computer.

You may be able to add DiskWipe to a BartPE boot disk. ... or you could just use Duke's Boot and Nuke disk to boot up.

Also, DiskWipe's FAQ says:

http://www.diskwipe.org/images/inset_s.gifDoes Disk Wipe work on partitions?
Disk Wipe ONLY works on partitions. If you want to wipe a disk which is partitioned into several partitions you have to wipe each partition separately. Alternatively, merge the partitions and format a single partition.

That makes me wonder if it will delete the MBR and the slack space in the MBR that some software uses to store registration data to enforce their copy protection. Would DiskWipe consider the MBR part of the first partition, or not?
