View Full Version : Desktop Orientation
All Windows Desktop items are oriented sideways (towards the left). What are the shortcut keys to change the Desktop orientation?
OR
How can I restore Default Desktop settings?

I dont know of any way to change the orientation. If you want them aligned to the left you right click in a blank desktop space and choose "Arrange Icons By > Auto Arrange" which will put them to the left. To move them FROM the left so you can put them anywhere else on the desktop. Untick "Arrange Icons By > Auto Arrange" and it will give you free movement. You might want to tick "Arrange Icons By > Align to Grid" to keep them neat.
For clarity, I shall add:
The desktop itself is rotated 90* to the left in relation to the screen. As a temporary solution, the monitor is sitting on its right side.:D
As I must say, it is one weird Windows feature.

I dont think its a Windows feature. It is most likely 3rd party software.
I can do it with my screens using the Nvidia program settings so I'll assume you have similar and ill tell you how to undo it.
If you have Nvidia:
Right click on the Nvidia Icon in your system tray (probably lime green in color).
It will have the option: <video card name> (<screen name>)
In my case its: Geforce Ti 4800 (Analog Monitor 1)
Expand that, and under "Rotation Settings" set it to Zero degrees.
CTRL + ALT + (arrow key)
Managed to do a Google of desktop rotation; and there it was.
