This laptop was dropped and as a result it appears the monitor is kaput(see photo)
I suspect its the monitor because when connected externally to another monitor the output is OK. So I feel the graphics hardware onboard is working ok. I dont have a replacement screen handy to confirm this so before I condemn the LCD has anyone seen this before or got any ideas?
Thanks in advance

If it is outputting to a secondary monitor correctly then the LCD is probably the issue, though i can't guarantee it. I don't see any physical damage to the screen so I'd check the cable that connects the LCD to the system board and make sure that it wasn't loosened.

Yeah, I did have a look at the connection on the system board and the monitors. Everthing appeared ok. I also checked for any cracks in the m/b & lcd pcb because it had been dropped and everything appears good.
