I have been to the joomla forums and they seemed to have no clue, so we'll see if you guys know their own stuff better than they do.:)

...On my website, I have the main URL with no sub-directory..like this

www.kellycomputerservices.com

However, when you click Home, the home.html sub-directory appears on the end of the URL...like this

www.kellycomputerservices.com/home.html

I will attach screenshots to show my Joomla settings...

Articles Settings:

So how on earth can I stop it from doing this?

I don't have a clue - don't do Web Design/Hosting etc.

However, I'd like to know why it matters.

We'll party because I'm particular like that...and another because if somewhere along the line your site gets linked to the home.html instead of the main link, it will hurt your overall site ranking because it is split (i think).

I just installed v 1.015 on my webhost to see if I'd have the same result and I do. It appears that the link is hard coded into the site template and must be changed by editing the relevant template files.

Even for the Home link? I DID have to edit a file for the main header logo link, but that seems odd for the menu pages. I'd think that would be joomla controlled instead of template based.
