pc restart when download antivirus update

i have a problem, my pc get infected by virus, i try to download anti-virus update but when it want to update suddenly my pc restart, and i do repeatedly but it still restart, how do i want to update my anti-virus,and it is cause by virus

This could be happening for many reasons.

What antivirus software are you using?

Also what Operating system are you using? If it is XP; XP is set to automatically restart when it encounters a serious error.

Your pc could be getting a error and not showing the error because xp restarts, to turn this feature off and see the error do this:

Right click my computer.

Click advanced tab

Under the startup and recovery section, click the settings button and clear the Automatically restart check box

Next time you try to download the update and your computer trys to restart you should get an error message post his here for everyone to look at and help you out.

It could be an issue with the actual virus software which causes a reboot as Matt said. Give what Matt said a shot and see if it throws out a blue screen with an error message.

If not, It could be a protection method that the trojan is doing. I have seen them switch off antivirus software and firewalls, disable msconfig, unload themselves when I look at the processes and close my other repair programs. It is possible that it sees that you are trying to update and forces a reboot of the computer.

If there is no blue screen message, let us know and we'll guide you though trying to remove it so you can update you Antivirus.
