memory card read error!!!

I bought a new sony ericsson G502 mobile recently..This model doesn't comes with memory but memory card slot is available and can be extended upto 4GB.I bought a new 512MB card but when accessing it disconnects automaticaly again and again.i have formatted my memory card..They gave a data cable wit the set but eventhough i couldn't access the memory card..Tried in card reader too..help me to solve this problem.Thanks in advance...!!!
