View Full Version : MS Office icons disappeared

Hello, when I view the list of files in a directory, the little icons that usually appear next to Word, Excel and Powerpoint files are gone. Instead, I see a box with a blue stripe across the top and a few dots inside. I usually think of that as an empty box. this only happens to Office 2003 files, not to Office 2007 files. Any ideas?

Here are a few options for you:
1. Right click on the file and select open with--> choose the program that should open it-->check the always use this program box--> click ok and repeat.
2. Go to Folder Options--> File Types--> change each file extension to open with the correct program (.doc, .xls, .ppt)
3. Run the Office 2007 installer and choose "Repair"
