Irrelevant Rant:
I purchased a laptop through my university two years ago due to the super awesom service I recieved while researching and the awesome warranty. Less than two months after purchasing, they sold their business support to MPC. MPC has now gone bankrupt and have nothing to offer me other than to answer the phone and tell me they can't do anything for me. Cool.

Relevant:
After cracking my screen last spring (100% my fault) and sending it in to be repaired, the backlight no longer works. It works in a few spots (sweet spots) but they're all at really uncomfortable angles. As stated, I'm a college student and it's really hard to write a 20 pages paper when your computer screen has to be at a 60 degree angle to the keyboard.

It does work consistently in this spot, however annoying it may be, so I know it's not the light. I've read some things online but I'm not completely sure what I'd be looking for or how to tell what might be the issue. I'm not sure how backlights get hooked up but it seems like there might just be a lose connection somewhere. I have to move the screen around before I find a sweet spot and sometimes it flickers.

I work on my own computer frequently but I don't really know technical terms. If anyone know of a place where I can get STEP-BY-STEP directions or any other suggestions -- that'd be great!
