I need some assistance on how to use Acronis True Image 2009 to create a Recovery CD of a Raid 1, so the client has an installation recovery cd in the event of a reformat.

I used Windows Vista Business and downgraded to XP Pro.

I used the boot cd but the Acronis boot cd didn't see the Raid 1 hard drives.

Any suggestions or assistance would be helpful

I'd say this is probably a drivers issue. I could be wrong of course. You could try contacting Acronis on this, I suppose or most likely someone else here will know

There are some raid controllers that Acronis doesn't support yet. I remember that nVidia raid controllers weren't supported a while ago, apparently that's changed. Here's the latest update on unsupported controllers: http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/support/kb/articles/883/

Aside from their work-arounds, you might be able to just turn raid off (if it's an onboard controller), make your image, then turn raid back on. Obviously to restore it, raid would have to be switched off and on again to get it to boot. I don't know if that'd mess up the raid settings or not, but I don't think it will. That would only work for raid 1.

after talking with acronis, they gave me a download to an iso image i am guessing is more up to date. and they suggested i use safe mode, as i attempted it in full mode.

Just curious....

Did the new program work?

If it didn't, you could always break the mirror-create your backup disks and then restore the mirror. A pain I realize, but that would work.
