Hi,
When I plug in a usb flash drive windows xp will notify me that I'm about to install an unsigned driver. Kinda strange because the driver is supplied within windows itself. I ran Process Explorer and Autoruns from sysinternals and noticed that the digital signature of almost all windows processes could not be verified. I performed a sigverif and it found thousands of unverified system files. on some machines I found malware and removed it and on some I didn't find anything malicious. If the malware is cleaned out the problem stays.
The tried running a checkdisk and a sfc /scannow with no results
The only way to fix it is to do a repair installation of xp.
I've encountered this problem on several xp machines and it's beginning to annoy me so I wonder if any of you guys have seen this problem too?
I'm tired of doing a full repair install cause everything else seem to work so If there is a better and/or easier fix I would love to hear it.
I started a thread on the sysinternals forums with no solution so far.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
thanks,
