I open the Windows Task Manager when Safari freezes and sometimes the memory usage is as high as 300,000K. I notice it going higher when watching Youtube videos, but after I close the window...it doesn't go back down. As I speak it's at 165,768K and was going up a hundred or more a second the longer I was watching media on sites like Youtube and Nico Nico Douga. It even freezes up when I'm posting on forums...in the middle of typing.

Then I have Opera which does not load bookmarks when I start it. I don't have any back ups anymore of them.

Firefox would be an option if I liked it, but I don't. I'd only install if for a couple plug ins that other browsers don't have. Other than that I find it a poor experience.

I always thought Firefox had the best user experience. I tried using Opera and never really cared for it, but that was a long time ago. Probably a few years at least I would think.

I've been using Firefox as my main browser for even longer though. When I started using it they still called it Firebird. The only real problem I ever had with it was all the memory leaks, but you can fix that just by restarting the browser so it wasn't a big deal.

I've only used Safari a few times. It generally seems slow, and once it crashed on me so I haven't been impressed.

Maybe you should try using Lynx for a while. =P

What happens if you use IE7? Sounds like you may have a bigger problem then just a browser.

I didn't update to IE7. I don't use it.
