After Windows crapped out on me, I performed a repair install that restored everything except for two things. One is that Daemon Tools won't work anymore. When it starts, is gives a message that says:
Initialization Error.
This program requires at least Windows 2000 with SPTD 1.21 or higher.
Kernel debugger must be activated.

I have tried to uninstall Daemon Tools only to have the uninstallation process unable to proceed since it cannot confirm an instalation of Daemon Tools.

The final problem is that my iPod Mini will not mount. When I have it connected to the laptop, the iPod display has the "Do Not Disconnect" message flashing as normal. However, the iPod does not show up in Windows Explorer or freeCommander. The mini has successfully mounted in other computers so it's not the iPod's fault.

Other than that and the ATI graphics driver taking the occasional dump (memory dump that is which is rare enough though), everything should be fine. Still, I'm ready to perform a clean install of Windows if needed but I am leaving that as a last resort.

And as a side question, if I am forced to perform a clean install, I want to install Linux. So, I want to know if there is a Linux distro that supports full hardware acceleration of an ATi Radeon IGP320M integrated GPU and permits video output. If not, what distro will work well with DRI and GATOS and how would I go about implimenting it.

If it allows you to, try installing Daemon tools over the previous install.

As for the iPod mini, look at your processes, is the ituneshelper.exe process running. This is the process that looks for connected ipods.

Also check out device manager (Right click on My Computer > Properties > Hardware Tab > Device Manager Button) and see if the Ipod is being discovered (might be under the USB subtree.

As for the Linux question, unfortunatly I dont know Linux indepth enough to help you with that question. Sorry.

I would recommend either SuSE or Ubuntu. Though both of these may not work.

As for the ATI graphics driver, i would recommend that you uninstall it, run drivercleaner, and reinstall. That should solve the crashing issues.
