I have to remnove a program called "Install-Blocker" as a client has lost the password. I am unable to install any program such as Unclean as the program blocks, unable to get to Add/Remove as it also blocks, unable to get to msconfig to stop it loading but this is also blocked. Tried the "Ultimate Boot Disk" but could not find the program. Any ideas appreciated.

Sorry could not find a quick reply icon. The system is XP Pro and I am unable to open in safe mode.

What happens when you try to boot into safe mode?

I select safe mode and the system reboots back to a normal logon

well this install blocker must obviously be running so i would suggest login in. CTRL+ALT+DEL then go thru and kill everything you can excluding Explorer.exe then you could install one of your cleaner programs. or you could even try msconfig or Autoruns or Hijack this to remove the programs startup then its just a matter of removing the program folder of this app aswell as any shortcuts.

That would be too easy, the programs blocks any attempt to use CTRL+ALT+DEL, control panel, msconfig, infact any system applications and of course blocks any attempt to install any program.

How about using a portable app like CCleaner? There is a Start-Up function that might work for you.

UBCDWin will give you other options that may work e.g.

rollback
registry clean
file removal

Just a thought.....
