Hi guys need your input here. As all of you i'm sure are aware of the economic hardship here in the USA. I was thinking of attracting more customers with a economic hardship discount. I was thinking maybe give 10%-15% discount on every service and advertise it as a way to help the struggles.

I'm still toying with the idea as I do not know if it sounds desperate, or it might attract cheap people.

I sort of like the idea as it will show that we care about the people and want to help in anyway we can, and the only way we can do that is offering a discount.

What do you think??

....to help the struggles....
....sounds desperate, or it might attract cheap people....
....want to help...

I'd try and figure out what I want to do...
1/ Make a buck by discounting and possibly attracting cheapskates
2/ Help people and not care what it looks like

I think promotions should really always be positive.. you don't want to remind them that they dont have any money when you are selling a service they could live without. I mean a pizza place wouldnt have a Fat people discount, why would a computer repair company have a "your in the poor house" discount?

LOL!!! I am literally laughing at that one!!! Thanks, I needed that.

vr6rafal, who are you marketing to anyway? I'm really not seeing a large downturn in my business. I just concluded a $3300 job earlier today and walked away with a check in hand. Going back tomorrow to install more software as well as adding a new email domain to the server.
