Sync files between Laptop and Server

I have a customer who wants to sync files between a server and his laptop, for when he is out of office.

The idea is when he hasn't got an internet connection and can't VPN to his server, he still has his files synchronized and he can carry on with work.

The new Sharepoint....client part is sort of "drop box like"

I use Windows Live Mesh...gotta have Vista/2K8 or newer, no 2003/xp support..and it's free...just a Microsoft Update download.
