This is my host so I took advantage of it and reg'd a few. can't beat < $1, especially if it is private.

You get what you pay for. Their customer support is terrible and they constantly call you to try to sell you more products. Had a few domain names with them and I swear they called me nearly every week trying to sell me something. I left after they tried to sell me a web builder package over the phone. I politely declined, told them I already have a well-established website and I find out a week later they still freaking signed me up for it! Uh, no. Buh-bye 1&1.

I've never had a problem with 1&1 in 8 years - they've never phoned me up to try to sell me something - perhaps it's just the US

I was with them for a while about a year ago and didn't have a problem or no call solicitations either. I'm from the US.

for me their support was horrible, couldn't understand half of what they were saying since it was a different country. Everything seemed to take forever to get taken care of.

Switched to godaddy and never looked back.
