linpus linux lite v1.0 cant get latest flash player

linpus linux lite v1.0 cant get latest flash player, always keeps coming up with a box wanting the "root" password, tried to change this password in terminal but with no luck, also not sure which version to download.

any suggestions ? links would be greatly appreciated.

So you do not know the root password or you do know the root password and it just ignores you? I don't know what you mean by "tried to change this password in terminal but with no luck"

ah sorry no i meant i dont know the password and the owner of the netbook says she has never made a password what so ever, also when i use terminal it does not let me type a new password in under the passwd command

I have never used Linpus but if you are able to edit the boot options in the boot menu, type init=/bin/bash then the system should boot to the prompt without a password, then type passwd to change root password after that reboot and login as root with the new password.
