Hey all, I have recently installed windows xp SP2 on my PC after getting rid of vista as I had problems and am having a lot of windows explorer trouble. A lot to do with a file called b6e6_appcompat.txt. Anyways, after lots of searching I found out a way to see if I have any corrupt files.

Firstly, make sure you have your windows XP cd in ur drive, as this process may require it.
Goto Start then Run and then type cmd
Once your dos windows pops up type sfc /scannow
What this program does is scan your windows installation for any corrupt or damaged files in you windows XP, and automatically fixes it....or at least its supposed to. At the time of writting this I was currently running the program, so will keep you posted and let you know once finished :D

Well so far, nothing worked on it as my windows explorer is still crashing when ever I try and view the contents of one of my HDD's.
