Ok here goes,

Got a client with a small network (5 PC's). One machine is the "server" machine for the database application. Each other machine points to that machine for the database through a mapped drive. The mapped drive will stay mapped, but you cannot access it through the software program without first going to the mapped drive in "my computer" and opening the folder. Any ideas???

Secondly, and this may be related to the problem above, Under the Applications tab in Task Manager there is an application that is showing "my computer" and the associated process is "explorer.exe" with the user name field "usernamecomputername". I have cleaned this machine and cannot find any virus/spyware/etc. This process/app doesn't seem to be affecting anything else (unless it's associated with the above issue)

Any ideas on how to fix it or what direction to go in would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks,
Jason

I saw that happen a couple years ago (attempting to log onto a Linux File Server) and the clients were always Windows XP MediaCenter PCs. Never figured out why Media Center couldn't connect but when we moved them to XP Pro or Home the problems ceased.

What OS are you dealing with?

Do'h I didn't even think about looking to see what OS they were, I just assumed they were XP Pro DUH...I'll check that tomorrow. I know home and MCE have network issues. That would make sense.

Thanks
