This laptops screen has a broken connector on the back of the LCD panel but I'm not sure what its called to order a replacement part (That is, if that part can actually be ordered instead of replacing the screen all together)

You need to resize the image to say 800x600 px so we can it properly. Is it the socket on the panel or the flat cable running up the back?

It is the socket on the panel where the broken connector resides. It is the part that the flat cable plugs into.

I've never had one break but I think if you search by the number on the board you get the complete panel. Stick the number into Ebay and see.

You're going to have to replace the whole panel.

I believe you are right. Thank you.

Might not necessarily have to replace the whole panel. If you've got one with a busted backlight laying around, you can swap the electronics. Its the circuit board on the back, attached to the middle layer of the panel.

I was looking around for replacement pieces and happened upon a local guy with a good condition panel for $50.00 so I went that route. Thank you for the idea though. It could help the next time.
