Hello everyone, here is my problem. I just started playing lord of the rings online, and my computer handles it pretty good. when i try to use alt-tab so i can look something up on the internet it will freeze for 30 seconds for a min or so while its switching but after will act completely fine and not laggy or nething. I have a dual core 2.5 ghz processor, with 4gb memory.. I have tried turning down the graphics and everything but that doesnt seem to be the problem, its only the act of switching between programs. My memory % used is onle 59 or 60%
Thanks everyone!

I feel your pain. With some games, it does not matter how beefy your system is - task switching is still extremely slow.

One way I know of that will probably surely speed up tabbing is by putting the game into Windowed mode and playing like that. Check the graphics options for the game and see if there is a windowed mode checkbox. If there isn't, you can right-click the icon that you use to launch the game and then modify it's properties to include -w and the end of the target address.

So it would end up looking something like this: "C:\Program Files\LOTR\lotr.exe" -w

EDIT: I did a little bit of research and apparently you can put LOTR into Windowed Mode by pressing Crtl+O to go into options and then unchecking "Full Screen Mode."

Let me know if that helps.

Yea ive tried window mode and it seems to do the same thing. My friend plays the same game on a vista laptop that isnt as good as mine and his switches fine with no lag or anything.

Hmm... I've heard of active programs causing problems with eachother. Try using End It All (http://www.docsdownloads.com/enditall-1.htm) to close all programs except for LOTR and your web browser and see if the issue still remains.

Have you tried posting on the LOTR support forum (http://forums.lotro.com/forumdisplay.php?f=16) for help?
