Free DVD Custom Editor

So I'm looking for something similar to ConvertXtoDVD, which will take my files (.avi) and allow me to make a custom DVD, with my own background and layouts...etc; of course for free.

Any suggestions, help please?

You can use WinAVI 9.0 for converting to DVD Format, then use Nero Premium to create the Menu's.

Yea I'm looking for an alternative b/c I'm completely fed up with Nero. Any other suggestions?
