View Full Version : Best option for using a printer over the internet?
I have a customer that logs into a remote machine via VNC and would like to print to her local printer. With a little searching I found this:
http://www.printeranywhere.com/
I was just wondering if anyone else ever used this software, or have ran into a similar setup.

I use it once in a while, it gets the job done. In the free version each job has an extra page, but I don't mind.
One time though it took a long time to load a 23 page pdf (including a few pictures), I ended up just canceling and using a flash drive (this was at home between 2 wireless machines not networked, if this had happened in a VNC situation I would have emailed or file transfered).

That made my head hurt. :D
If I remember correctly, Hamachi will allow you to print to a shared network. It's just a vpn network client, so as long as both computers are connected and a printer is shared, sending the job should be as easy as printing to a network printer.
My hamachi network is down, so I can't confirm this 100%, but I'll update this post tomorrow when I can.
