PCI Firewire card not detected by XP

Hello,

We bought a cheap PCI Firewire card (Ritmo) and installed on a customer's PC. She's running Windows XP Pro SP2.
Windows detects it, however it can't find the drivers. Device Manager says: "This device is not configured correctly (Code 1)". I have contacted the manufacturer and they said we don't need drivers, that XP should install them automatically...

Are these drivers located in the Windows XP disk somewhere?

Couple things to try, if you haven't already.
Try moving the card to a different slot. That sometimes works...sometimes.
Try using "update driver" and then allow it to search windows updates. Might work...might not.
Failing that, check this out: Towards the bottom of the page is specific information that basically says the card might not conform to IEEE1394 specs and gives a work around. Link (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314464/en-us)

you also might try windows update to see if it can find a driver for it.

and I guess if none of that works you might tell us what device manager shows. does it list it as some sort of capture card? or unknown device etc. That may help troubleshoot/

Thank you for your replies.
The device comes up as: PCI device, in Device Manager. Error Code 1.
So basically I think it means that the driver hasn't been installed at all.

I have tried 'reinstalling' the driver from Device Manager, and the same problem occurs. I will try that link above, and will post back the results.
