what software do you never leave home without? Just curious as to what programs everyone else carries in their tools to help with repairs.

I figure the standard spybot, adaware, antivirus, but is there something that you might use that maybe others don't think to carry with them?

Gunslinger is using Pstart: http://pegtop.net/start/

If you need repair software and a PStart Menu, check out our Computer Repair Utility Kit (http://www.technibble.com/computer-repair-utility-kit)

thanks again gunslinger. quick question, has anyone had a problem with CCleaner messing up a computer? I ran it on my wifes laptop and now it keeps restarting. Granted, other things were done at the same time so I wasn't sure if it was just a weird coincidence or not.

I don't think the problem was caused by Ccleaner, its one of the safest programs I know of. I would look into some of the other things done to the laptop.

I'd say it could be CCleaner, if you used the registry cleaner portion of the program. I used that on one person's computer, and it then did about the same thing yours is, if I recall correctly. Let's put it this way, I've not used that portion of the program again.
