Hi all,

does anyone tweak XP or Vista with reg edit?

for example I generally add "If your PC CRASHES call MY COMPANY on xxx - xxx - xxxx" to the Internet Explorer task bar.

I also add a shortcut to my website from there desktop using my own icon.
(an idea I have to admit I got form someone on this site - sorry I can't remember your name, but you know who you are, thanks for the tip.

I also change the support information under system properties and insert my own.

in addition to that i disable the "Windows Tour"

is there anything else you can recommend I do, or what are you doing?

Thought it may be an interesting topic

I do that as well, and I make sure a link is added to their Favorites list

Ok, I have not done this. I couldn't find the steps after googling it. Can you give me a walk through?

The file should be saved in the %systemroot%\system folder (for Windows 98/ME computers) or in %systemroot%\system32 folder (for W2K/XP/2003 computers) as OEMINFO.INI.

Just open it in notepad & edit it as you would any text file.

Here is a copy of one im currently working on.

The picture is a 256-colour-Windows bitmap (.BMP) file.

Microsoft states that the size should be 96 pixels square when using small fonts in Display Property settings, or 120 square with large fonts.

The file should be saved in the %systemroot%\system folder (for Windows 98/ME computers) or in %systemroot%\system32 folder (for W2K/XP/2003 computers) as oemlogo.BMP

Should this read Receipt? Not trying to be pedantic, but I hate putting something out to my end-users with a typo.

Thank you for sharing this. I will be looking at doing this in the future.

Hi Bryce,

just read i.

the inclusion of a Logo template to get the correct size was a good idea

it may be an idea to include this tutorial in with the Computer Business Kit, as i think its fairly useful get your company known.
