Hi all! Just wondering what you take is on how to clean RAM contacts. I have always used an eraser to clean them, but I have heard that you should use isopropyl alcohol. So whats your take?

1200 grit or finer sandpaper.

1200 grit or finer sandpaper.I wouldn't!

Isopropyl is what I use, abrasion shouldn't be necessary and is likely to do more harm than good.

+1 Isopropyl Alcohol (93%?) & Q-Tips

I usually just use a cotton bud or q-tip to remove it along with some compressed air

CRC contact cleaner is what I use. I got a sample "DetoxIT" pen from a Linux users group meeting and it's supposed to be great for that sort of thing. I haven't tried it yet but it looks ok.

I have had to use toothpaste before because the contacts had a insect funk that rubbing alcohol couldn't get off, but I go with a q-tip and a bit of rubbing alchool 99.5% of the time.

This may be odd but qhat kind of q-tips do you all use I have the longer wood post ones for the hard to get to spot, and the thicker paper post ones, the plastic straw ones seem to bend to easy.
