I have client's machine that is running AVG Internet Security 7.5. Everything is up to date. When running a scan, AVG finds a supposed trojan called generic9.(random file extension), usually in the System Restore folders.

I have disabled System Restore, cleaned out temp files and scanned within and outside of Windows with a variety of programs, such as NOD32, Avast, Spybot and AdAware 2007. Each program found and cleaned different types of malware, but just when everything seems clean, AVG picks up generic9 again in a different location.

Has anyone come across this before? Could it be a false positive?

From what i've seen of Generic9 from AVG it's usually a false positive.
