Kyuu (http://www.technibble.com/forums/member.php?u=17) brought this up in Anime-forums.com chat today. Its pretty awsome.

Start > Run. Type "cmd" without the quotes and it will bring up a DOS window.

In that DOS window type:

telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl

And sit back and watch... Pretty frickin awsome.

It'll play Star Wars: A New Hope.... in ASCII..... in your DOS Window (telnet).
Just do it, you'll see.

I'm not a Star Wars fan in any way, but that was really cool.

Beautiful find. Old, yet I have never seen this. Worth a look if you're a Star Wars fan.

Helps if you switch on Telnet in Win 7 first!!

Has anyone watched it all the way through? I think I made it about 5 minutes... :)

Oh wow I remember this from YEARS ago! I am surprised that it is still around to be honest!

Ya, pretty damned amazing! My 15 yr. old nephew showed me that a few months back - he was convinced it was an "Easter egg" until I asked the steps he took to play it.

Amazing. I'm a fan of Star Wars. Anybody know if the other episodes have been done?

They did The Clone Wars, but it was binned because the crude ASCII version was more credible than the film.
