Desktop Icon..

I'm not sure if this goes here, but oh well!

I recently downloaded a .exe file onto my desktop. That is where firefox automatically downloads everything for me. I ran the program, and it worked just fine, but now I want to get rid of that icon. Unfortunately, when I go to delete it instead of doing so properly, Windows Explorer freezes and has to "restart".

This is starting to get bothersome, and my OCD will not stop bugging me about that lonely icon.

It's a java program, and I'm running Vista.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried deleting it in safe mode? If that doesnt work perhaps try the computer repair utility off this site (it has a file deletion option). Otherwise theres lots of programs on the net that offer 'bleachers' or 'shredders' that seem to delete persistant files.
