Hi guys,

Referring to article How to clean the inside of a computer case. technibble.com/how-to-clean-the-inside-of-a-computer-case/#more-661

My discussion for this forum is to know what techs use onsite to remove caked on dust from a computer case and where they get these tools from?

The article mentions to use a compressor for best results, i am interested to know if anyone has a powerful and portable compressor for these jobs.

Or are there any other useful tools, which people are using?

Well, I use a full size compressor. The same types that house builders use to power their nail guns. However, because of its size I cannot take it on-site. I have a can of compressed air but it isnt very good for removing caked on dust. A commentor in that thread mentioned that his compressed air can remove caked on dust. I think my brand of compressed air (called "Dust Away") was just weak.
I know you can buy small portable compressors but I dont own one so I cant tell you how powerful they are or recommend one.

I've found the best type of "canned air" to be the office depo brand http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?level=SK&id=329576&N=255903&An=browse

I try to buy as much as possible when the price is <$6/can at my local store also geeks.com carries it from time to time.

The Office Depot brand is 100% non-flamable, I've found that to be true via use. I've not had the same luck with other brands.

If you do alot of dust busting invest in a computer vacum, do a google search for Toner Vac, it will save you money in the mean time and you dont get dust everywhere!!

I don't like to dust up a clients office so I take them outside and use a Honda engine powered compressor to blow the cases clean, just remember to hold the fans still with a finger or something.
