Hi
I currently have in the shop a E-Systems (PC World) laptop. It is actually a rebranded ECS G322 laptop.
The customer is claiming that since being reformatted a couple of months ago the screen has been flickering when he does a virus scan.
I am currently investigating the fault and have so far noticed that the screen tends to flicker when the hard drive is accessed. I have checked the cable from the screen to the board and that seems fine, also have checked the hard drive is seated correctly. I have even checked the DMA settings for the IDE controller and updated the IDE drivers and graphics drivers.
Now the strange thing is that if I boot the laptop from a UBCD4WIN boot disc there is no flickering. I thought it may have been a driver issue at this point but even if I start a factory restore on the laptop the screen flickers even before windows is installed on the hard drive, ie the factory restore software flickers too.
Any one have any ideas?
