Just received my new pens about 10 minutes ago! Let me know what you think! :D I love them, and they write as nice as a ballpoint stick pen can be expected to write. I expected the caps to not stay on the back while you write from the reviews I read, but it turns out the reviews wasn't correct because I tried it and the caps stay on perfectly, albeit they are a little hard to get on, but that just makes them stay more securely, I think anyway.

Also, this comes with a question. Where do you all put your pens / would you put your pens? I'm thinking about distributing them to doctors offices locally, restaurants, and maybe even stores. I'm thinking anywhere that doesn't use their own pens would be a good place to hit up with maybe 50 at a time then check back every couple weeks to see how they are doing. I'd say it's the best way to get them out in the hands of people.

I understand pens are in no way shape or form a way to GET business, but it's nice whenever they see your logo and they feel familiar with it even though they might not know why. I'm sure it makes you "feel" more trustworthy to them once they come in via another means of advertisement or word of mouth. Just my 2 cents. Let me know what you think of my pens though!?!?!?! :)

P.S. Excuse the quality. I took the picture with my iPhone 3GS just so I could quickly email it and not screw with any cables. haha

Definitely bring them to restaurant's and small offices.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay?

I got a hell of a deal on 'em. $0.14 / piece. Paid $140 for 1000 pens. They came in a box the size of something I can only compare to slightly smaller than a mini tower. I didn't imagine 1000 pens as being SO MANY! haha

Please tell them Justin Waugh sent you if you buy, maybe I can get something out of it?

My GOD did I read that the wrong way....

Your pens look excellent- I think the "!" distracted me a bit there...so, good job :)

Also, 1,000? That's a LOT! I can't imagine you'd be going through them all for about a good...year.

Get your mind out of the gutter guys, and look at my pens! lmao

Thanks for the compliments, I really like them! :) Glad you guys do too.

I'm aiming for them to last about 6 months. I'm going to keep about 100 - 200 on hand at the shop at all time just in case I go and do some show or something I want to have them available. I'm going to head out after lunch and try to get at least 200 out today (10-15 / business) out to stores, doctors offices, and restaurants.

I don't want them to last over a year because by then they'll be dried up and suck, and dried up sucky pens looks like a reflection of a sucky business! I think I'm going to make up a new flyer about a christmas promotion right now then go buy some rubber bands and put bunches of 10 pens together and hand them with the flyers. Even still, that's only 100 people getting my pens if I gave all 1000 out. So 1000 will go faster than one would think if actually given out and not held onto.

I thought this was a spam post at first untill I looked at your pens! at bit closer.

If you have every read the book Buzz Marketing by Mark Hughes you will realise that you pushed one of the buttons to generate Buzz marketing.

"Hey... Have you seen Marks Pens! ...looks great."

Maybe be a bit in bad tase but does hit the Taboo button.

That's interesting. May be looking into that book now...
I'm always up to read to learn new business skills. A few highly recommended books from me are

Who Moved my Cheese? Spencer Johnson, M.D. <-- an excellent book to sit in the bookstore and read while teenage children are running around the mall you can read the whole book in one sitting, I did.

The Magic of Thinking Big David J. Shwartz, PH.D.

Psycho Cybernetics Maxwell Maltz

How to get past no! William Ury

Just putting that out there. :)

I have read the first two but not the others. Interestingly I am sitting in a library right now with my daughter so I am going to try to get Psycho Cybernetics. I like the name although I have no idea what it is about. I guess I will find out soon enough.

Psycho Cybernetics is a more in-depth version of The Magic of Thinking Big. It is what all the "motivational speakers" are basing everything they say off of. Tony Robbins, is one example that immediately comes to mind, although he's only one.

Psycho Cybernetics teaches you about the "self image" and how you must change it to be able to do things you think right now are impossible for you to achieve because that image is what is holding you back. It's proven that kids making Fs in math was taught to "think" he could do it, and he turned into a straight a student.

It's a good book. :)

Thanks Fred for still checking in now and again. I tell you the kits they come out with today are getting more and more fancy and adding more bling. But with that comes a steeper price and you have to reflect that in a selling price. I have been doing fairly well with my pens. It is enough to keep the fire alive. I have so many other ideas in my head and will hopefully get to try a few after the Holidays this winter. Thanks for the kind words and good to see you have survived the floods in your area. Have a great day.

Respond to my post. I want to see if you are real

I am trying to figure out the software because it is pretty smart if it isn't a human doing it.

Sure the posts aren't that much related to the thread, but it actually includes some elements of the thread (talking about pens) and sounds remotely on-topic. Maybe he ordered a Pen Kit. But who is frank? lol
