Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 SP3
the icon says it has a connection but when i try to open IE, it could not connect...did someone encounter this one..? need someone...

solved! i run combofix...it was sqlite3.dll...IE back again...thanks...God bless...:):)

Yeah try pinging yahoo or something to figure out if its the internet or the browser.

Yeah try pinging yahoo or something to figure out if its the internet or the browser.
Pinging Yahoo will tell you if DNS is working or not. Pinging localhost or 127.0.0.1 will tell you if the NIC is good or bad. Pinging an IP address other than the local one will tell you if you can reach another PC. Tracert comes in handy in finding where the connection drops off if it only goes partially to the site.
