I work full time for company as an IS Assistant, but find myself doing more non IT related crap. I've been offered a Mobile Technician position for a locally company. The position is a contract position. I have an interview tomorrow, what questions should I ask, what is going pay scale with contract, how much can I really make, is it worth it? I want to be my own boss and thought this position my help give me insight to my own part time business. Thoughts or suggestions appreciated. Thanks

the position will give you some insight into what its all about but don't expect to get paid very much. If its a bigger shop you are going to be working for they will have lots of overhead. I have been working for myself for about 4-5 years now and I make $30-35 an hour depending on the job.

I plan on getting my business going, but first need to establish a couple of clients. What software do you use for invoicing, billing, tracking history, and forms to protect yourself? thanks

Cheers. I was told QuickBooks is a wonderful piece of software for a sole-proprietorship business. Your thoughts?

You can always get the free version of quickbooks to start with, and if you like it and want more features you can upgrade to a better version.
