What software do you use to track customer history and what do you use to bill your customers? Thanks

We use goldmine, a very old one actually. With a ton of hacks in place to make it really work for what we do.

That will be going away in about 6 months when I finish the big migration from goldmine+quickbooks on an xp pro box over to 2003 server, sql server 2005, exchange, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and Microsoft Dynamics GP (accounting.) It will be so nice having an integrated solution where everything just fits together and all the data for all the apps is in ONE place.

That is the very expensive route of course. A few of my friends who do this from home by themselves use goCRM. It integrates nicely with Office and its only $150. It does customers, scheduling, purchasing, and other needed things. It also does some basic reporting and allows for customized reports. This is a list of features: http://www.gocrmsoftware.com/Modules.cfm

My friends were lucky to get it the day it was on http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/ so they didnt have to pay for it. But it is pretty good software and if you want it to link into accounting, it does link into Sage Line 50, which is a decent accounting pacakge.

I use Atrex. I use it for inventory, customer database and creating service orders/invoices. I works great for me.
