Bugs have already been discovered on the newly released Firefox 3.0 web browser. A security tools firm called TippingPoint warns Firefox 3 and Firefox 2 users that a flaw exists in these softwares that lets an attacker inject hostile code onto vulnerable systems.
It was discovered just five hours after the release of the web browser.
A buffer overflow bug was also discovered and The Register notes that it is not clear yet whether this is the same flaw that TippingPoint discovered.
An estimated 7 million downloads occurred in the first 24 hours of the launch of Firefox 3.0.

All good things must come to an end. Firefox has become just another over rated browser
“Just another Over Rated Browser”:
I would rather use it then MS IE7 or any other MS Browser that has or will come out. It is Ten times the secure Browser than MS Browser, By Far.
Maybe so…but its still just another over rated browser and NOT the “perfect solution” its supporters make it out to be.
In fact, it has many of the same security holes as IE… they just gets less publicity.
All software is going to have bugs, its how these bugs get sorted out which stand the providers out from the rest. I believe that if this is the case, it will be sorted out quickly as oppose to Micros##t.
I agree with InterNet Age:
All Software will have Bugs, this has been plainly seen throughout the years with major Releases and Though Bugs are expected.
The reason Firefox gets less publicity from hackers, or crackers is that it is more Secure than IE, and Less Vulnerable, And I salute Anyone, that will offer Awesome FREE Software, That is proven time and time again to be better performing than it’s predecessors.
I have been a long time supporter and Buyer of MS Products, Some are Excellent, Some are Junk, MS has a Tendency to drag their Cans when it comes to fixing things. IE while running consumes anywhere from 30MB to 100MB of RAM, While Firefox Right now uses less than 5MB with a third party tool. That Alone makes me think “Why Use IE, Memory Hog, Vulnerable, While Firefox is not Bullet Proof, it is better in all ways compared to IE, Opera, and Safari”…
Just My Opinion…
For the record, if a hacker wants into your system, it won’t matter what OS or Browser you are using they will get in. Besides the publicity I mentioned has nothing to do with the attention from hackers, but rather the fact Firefox is full of security holes (many of the same ones that IE has) and no one ever hears about them. This is because the developers like to pretend they don’t exist and never mention them.
I have worked with US-CERT and the NVD sense their inception, so you can believe me; in reality Firefox is no more secure than any other browser, and is way overrated. It simply DOES NOT live up to the hype on security issues. As far as its performance, it is NOT completely superior in those aspects either. I does outperform IE7 in some areas but certainly not all.
But hey…ya got to love the Firefox hypesters and they way they defend it…even if their facts are a bit jaded.
