In January, F-Secure will release its newest antivirus program called Client Security version 7. The software is also a desktop firewall software and two of the new features are the stand-alone rootkit detection program called Blacklight which identify hidden malicious codes, and host-based intrusion prevention.

Rootkits are designed by programmers to be embedded deep into an operating system. F-secure advices admininistrators to oversee the process that F-Secure facilitates when removing the rootkits.

The cost of the software will be $41. The software is designed for the 64-bit version of Windows Vista. However, F-Secure will also release a beta version for the 32-bit version of Vista.
